"We contacted Christina of Duperron Designs for some guidance on space
planning and updating our kitchen and bathrooms as a large-scale remodel project. She
spent a significant amount of time measuring our space, asking us questions about
our taste and style. It was also obvious to us that she spent a good amount
of time checking out our current décor, colors, and surroundings. When
she came back to us with options for the space we were amazed and pleasantly surprised
by how well she listened and was able to take that information and draw our dream
home within our current home footprint.
From there we met with Sean of Great Northern Homes to walk through the plans and
practicality of creating our dream home. He provided a budget and scope
of that work that was very detailed, with no hidden costs or surprises. Once
we were ready to move forward, Sean sent us a link to software where he posted updates
on the project including pictures and the status of each phase. We could also
use the software to make adjustments where needed. The result is truly
our dream house. Christina and Sean were both very easy to work with,
great listeners, and communicated well through the process. We knew exactly
what was going on at all times and there were no surprises. There
were some obstacles as happens with any remodel, but they communicated clearly thru
the process and made sure that all options were made available so that we could make
informed decisions without surprises. We 100% enjoyed working with Duperron Designs

"We are very pleased with the craftsmanship but the “Prize” is our spiral staircase
to the loft. We had to remove an oak tree to build the addition to our cottage and
asked if the wood could be used to build the staircase. Not only did they build the
staircase with the wood but they were able to do the flooring and the bathroom vanity
from the same tree! We appreciate how our ideas were “heard” and then turned into

Working with Sean and Christina was a great pleasure. I worked initially with Christina
who listened carefully to what I wanted, helped me plan and offered choices and suggestions
according to my likes and budget. Then, Sean made it happen! My kitchen and main
bathroom were original to the house from the 1960’s. I wanted something more up-to-date
that still fit with the rest of the house. And, I was hoping for a view of the lake
from my kitchen. Sean was able to remove a portion of the wall separating the kitchen
and living room. The result looks as if it was planned that way originally. Now,
I can cook at my island stove, see the lake, and carry on a conversation with those
in the living room. Sean discussed options and what the results and expenses would
be, so that I could make the decision that was right for me. He was extremely conscientious
about reducing the mess in the rest of the house and leaving everything cleaned.
I am very happy with the process and the final product and am enjoying my new kitchen
and bathroom immensely.

I would highly recommend the Great Northern Homes and Duperron Designs Inc. team
for any building, remodeling or design project. I liked their straight forward organized
approach. Sean pays attention to the building details and Christina thinks of the
design including colors, how many electrical outlets in the room, furniture placement,
lighting, etc. Our remodeling project was kept neat and tidy during the building
phase, they cleaned when they were finished and the project was completed early.
I will hire GNH and DDI for our future building needs.
